After right clicking on a link, choose "Save Target As...".
(If you are using Netscape, choose "Save Link Target As...").

A "Save As" dialog will then appear asking where to save the file to on your computer. The easiest solution is to use the drop-down at the top of the dialog to pick "Desktop" then just press the Save button. This will save the file to your Windows desktop. You can of course save the file anywhere you want.

WinZip/Winrar & A PDF Reader Required
You must have WinZip or a similar program to use the files ending in ".zip". If you don't already have this, click here to visit the WinZip web site (this will open in a new browser window). You should download the "free evaluation version" which will do everything you need.

After you have installed WinZip, you can double-click on any file name ending with ".zip" and it will open in WinZip. You can then press the "Extract" button to extract the files to wherever you want. If you need assistance, select the "Brief Tutorial" in the WinZip Help menu.

Some people occasionally experience difficuties downloading files.
If you're having problems downloading, due the connection timing-out whilst trying to get those big file downloaded, try using something called a "DOWNLOAD MANAGER".
 
This will enable you to download and queue a large number of files, and can be run unattended - Great for downloading over-night!  It is also multi-threading, so your downloads should be faster.
Just drag and drop the download link onto the software.
If your download gets interrupted you can resume from where you left off.
You can also pause downloads, categorize downloads, plus a whole host of other useful functions.
One of the best Download Mangers is called "Download Accelerator Plus" or D.A.P. for short.  There is a Free Trial Version and a Full Version, the only difference is the trial version has an advertising banner on it.
